Manorfield Nursery is a school nursery with places for 2, 3 and 4 year olds in the Staincliffe area of Batley.

We offer free, part-time places of early education for eight 2 year olds and 104, 3 and 4 year olds, during term time.

All 3 and 4 year olds are entitled to free nursery education.
We have a small number of full-time places for parents/carers in receipt of the free 30 hours funding.

Our Aims

We want our children to be happy, confident and curious learners. In order to achieve this, we work in partnership with our parents/carers, so we can learn more about our children and build a strong relationship in order to give them the best start.

Our Curriculum

We offer a broad and balanced play-based curriculum. Our Curriculum is guided by the birth to 5 matters of non-statutory guidance for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), children’s interests, themes such as the seasons or celebrations, and our years of experience in planning a high quality nursery learning environment.

At the core of our curriculum we have three key elements:

Relationships: it is very important for children to feel safe and secure in order to learn. Every child has a key person who takes the lead on their care, including recording their learning journey and leading a group activity each day. Children become more independent when they have strong and caring relationships where they can express their feelings.

Language: talking, playing and reading with children every day helps them learn lots of new words. Language is essential for them to express themselves, make friends and make their needs known. Children who are good communicators at age five are most likely to be successful learners throughout their time in school.

Outdoor Learning: children need regular time outdoors every day for a healthy lifestyle. Being outdoors helps children develop the physical skills they need to develop strong, healthy bodies. Children benefit from exploring the world around them in all weathers!

Children’s learning at Manorfield takes place through a balance of independent play, adult guided play and direct teaching.
